The Villages Public Safety Department (TVPSD) responded to many incidents during the 20/21 fiscal year. With nine fire stations, 150 full-time firefighters, six battalion chiefs and 16 administrative personnel, TVPSD responded to 24,552 incidents.
17,165 (or 70%) of the incidents were rescue and emergency service related. There were 4,090 service calls. Service calls include persons in distress, water leaks, smoke/smell of smoke and smoke detector assistance. 2,033 were good intent calls. The remaining 1,264 (or about 5%) of incidents included fires, false alarms, false calls, hazardous conditions and other miscellaneous incidents.
