Beginning in mid-December, the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office started investigating five commercial business burglaries. The burglaries targeted restaurants, and all shared a similar method of gaining entry.
During the investigations, detectives were able to develop 43-year-old Sean Vincent Sheehan as the suspect. The investigation also revealed that Sheehan is the suspect in several other commercial burglaries in Marion County, Lake County and multiple jurisdictions in south Florida.
According to Florida Police Scanner, on Jan. 7, Sheenhan abandoned his vehicle and stole a Honda CRV. During the early morning hours of Jan. 14, detectives with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office spotted the stolen vehicle in Marion County. Marion County was notified and their units attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle being driven by Sheehan. Sheenhan failed to yield and fled, resulting in a pursuit. Marion County Sheriff’s Office was able to end the pursuit quickly and Sheenhan was taken into custody.
He is currently charged with Fleeing and Eluding. Sheehan is currently in Marion County jail. Additional Sumter County charges are pending.
