Four Sumter County residents graduated from the Citizens Academy during a recent Sumter County Board of Commissioners event.
The new graduates include Hank Dalton, Ken Fuehrmeyer, Russell Gould and George McCollum.
The Citizens Academy holds five half-day programs that teaches residents about the various departments and agencies connected to the county. In addition to classes, attendees get tours of facilities such as animal services, public works, the library and more.
“I thought that it was very informative and definitely worthwhile. I learned a great deal about the functions of the county government,” said Fuehrmeyer.
The next Citizens Academy begins Tuesday, January 10 at 1 p.m. Anyone interested to attend can register here: https://www.sumtercountyfl.gov/citizensacademy.
“I loved it! I am telling everyone about it,” Gould said.
