On June 23 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Marion County Fire Rescue (MCFR) units were dispatched to reports of a structure fire off of SE 24th Pl. in Ocala. The 911 callers reported their neighbors house was struck by lightning. Both heavy smoke and flames were visible.
According to Florida Police Scanner, multiple MCFR suppression units and Ocala Fire Rescue Battalion Chief and Engine 7 arrived on scene to extinguish the fire. Crews were able to put a great stop on the fire, saving some of the homeowners possessions.
