Bowling Fundraiser in Ocala

On June 26, a Forty Frame Tournament will be held at AMF Galaxy East Lanes in Ocala, Florida. It’s open to everyone. Entry fee is $30 per person.

“The Forty Frame Game,” according to the tournament’s Facebook page, “is the world’s most unusual singles bowling tournament. It is a whole new bowl game, and it’s the fastest growing bowling tournament in the nation. There is no plain frame in The Forty Frame Game. There are also opportunities for Bonus Points, Free Strikes and Second Chance Strikes. To add to the excitement, ‘Sour Grapes’ frames present a special challenge – non-strike first balls cause a loss of pin count. Plus, a strike in the “Big Kahuna” gets you a 25 pin bonus.”

This tournament is a fundraiser to raise money for the Marion County Search and Rescue, a non-profit organization that helps various law enforcement agencies and families in the effort to locate a missing person. The team doesn’t charge for their services, and it’s completely volunteer based. They also don’t receive any sort of funding from any Federal, State or Local government agencies, according to the tournament’s Facebook page.

Walk-in registrations starts at noon, but people can sign up early by filling out the registration form at https://www.facebook.com/events/899262937523248?ref=newsfeed and following the instructions. Bowling starts at 1 p.m. More information can be found on the tournament’s Facebook page.
