In early March, 40 dogs and cats found new homes through the hard work and dedication of the Sumter County Animal Services team.
Employees put in many hours at the Sumter County Annual Fair, as well as collaborating with various animal rescue organizations to make sure these pets could find their loving furever home.
“Our Animal Services team celebrated a major success at the County fair, finding loving homes for all our dogs through adoption or fostering,” said Stephen Kennedy, Assistant County Administrator. “This achievement highlights the importance of responsible pet ownership and the positive impact of community support on animals coming from strays or those surrendered by their owners.”
Animal Services will hold a special Easter Adoption Eggstravaganza on Wednesday, March 27 at The Villages Sumter County Service Center. More information on that event is to come. If you are interested in adopting or fostering a pet from Sumter County, please visit www.sumtercountyfl.gov/animals.
