Joseph Vincent Angione, 81, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on Thursday, August 5. Joe was born on September 14, 1939, to Joseph Alfred and Helen (Dooley) Angione of the Bronx, NY. Joe graduated from Fordham University in 1961 and married his wife, Dale, in 1962. Together, they raised three children, Tracy, Scott, and Christopher.
Joe served honorably in the United States Air Force, having been stationed in Germany, Texas and Ohio. Thereafter, Joe began a long and fruitful career in publishing in New York City. He also dedicated an additional seven years as an Air Force Reservist.
Upon retirement, Joe and Dale moved to The Villages, FL, where Joe enjoyed writing as an opinion columnist for The Villages Daily Sun and as a feature writer for The Villages Style Magazine. As a music enthusiast and vocal talent, Joe produced a series of 13 shows called Sentimental Journey, donating 100% of the proceeds to local charities.
Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, whose dedication to family and unwavering patriotism will forever serve as an inspiring portrait of generations past. Joe is survived by his wife, Dale; his three children, Tracy Decker (David) of The Villages, FL, Scott Angione (Diva) of Wildwood, FL, and Christopher Angione (Cleo) of Wildwood, FL; his nine grandchildren, Nicole (Eric), Daniel (Sarah), Casey, Kyra, Kaitlin, Blake, Hailey, Michael, and Hunter; his three great-grandchildren, Connor, Avery and Charlotte; and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Helen.
In lieu of flowers or donations, Joe’s family asks that you please do a random act of kindness in Joe’s honor. Visiting hours are Monday, August 9, from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Hiers-Baxley, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages. Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 10, at 10:30 am at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place, Lady Lake.
