The Franklin Recreation Center will open its doors this week in the Village of Newell.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place this Thursday, June 22, at 9 a.m.
The new recreation center pays homage to the area’s rich history as the former watermelon capital of the world; throughout the new building, people will spot pink hues reminiscent of the juicy summertime treat and other decorations.
The new recreation center will include an 18-hole Jubilee Putting Course, bocce ball, gathering rooms and more. The new recreation center is located at 6750 Meggison Road.
