Carlo and Nicole Bellusci love being able to serve wonderful food to others in the neighborhood. The Village of Buttonwood couple accomplishes this through Farmshed, their restaurant. Farmshed, a family-owned restaurant in Spanish Springs Town Square, serves Southern-style cuisine. The new company at 990 Del Mar Drive on the square offers American-crafted beers, a wine list with predominantly American wines and multiple coffee alternatives.
The restaurant first opened in May, and since then, the business has been steadily increasing. The Bellusci’s are working hard to continue to deliver high-quality meals to their clients, and they hope that more people will come in to enjoy their food and service.
“We’ve been very pleased with business so far, and Spanish Springs continues to be one of the most dynamic squares,” Carlo said.
The business has also benefited from performances at the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center. Carlo stated that he has noticed an increase in the number of clients before and after shows.
“That’s been amazing for us,” he said.
Farmshed tries to provide as many farm-to-table variables as possible, and the staff is always looking for new and intriguing things to give clients. To provide fresh options, the restaurant collaborates with The Villages Grown.
“We’re continually tweaking our menu and focusing always on fresh beautiful food,” Carlo said.
Customers seem to like what the eatery has to offer.
“We’re getting a lot of wonderful people (who) appreciate really good food,” Carlo said.
Carlo expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to provide nice cuisine to others.
For the past few years, Carlo and Nicole have been planning to open a restaurant in The Villages. They wanted to create a new restaurant to provide the town with another alternative.
“Both Nicole and I wanted to firmly entrench ourselves in the community,” Carlo said.
Carlo aspires to hire additional people and see more people come in to try the meal.
“Our food is so good that you’ll want to lick your plate,” he said. “It’s wholesome, it’s fresh and it’s memorable.”
Every day from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., the restaurant remains open. Visit farmsheddiner.com to make a reservation or for more information.
