Customers can only get lunch and dinner at the moment because the restaurant is still in its soft opening phase.
The Farmshed American Diner, a Southern-style restaurant, is a recent addition to the Spanish Springs Town Square. There are also American-crafted beers, a wine selection with predominantly American wines and many coffee alternatives at the restaurant. The new restaurant at 990 Del Mar Drive is still in its soft opening phase, with a limited lunch and dinner menu. The restaurant formally opened recently.
“Farmshed is working really hard at bringing good value with the freshest ingredients to not only Villagers but the surrounding area,” said Carlo Bellusci, one of the owners of the restaurant.
Bellusci owns the restaurant with his wife, Nicole, and they live in the Village of Buttonwood.
For the past few years, the two have been planning to open a restaurant in The Villages. They planned to create a restaurant in the neighborhood to provide locals with another dining alternative.
“We just wanted to do something for The Villages,” Carlo said.
The Belluscis are collaborating with local farmers, such as The Villages Grown, to provide the restaurant with the freshest local foods and farm-to-table options.
They intended for the restaurant to serve breakfast, lunch and supper, but due to staff shortages, the restaurant is only available for lunch and evening at the moment. In the near future, it is hoped to be entirely open.
“The sooner the better,” Carlo said.
The owners are making any essential modifications to the operations in order to improve the efficiency of the business.
“We’re continually tweaking our menu to make sure we’re giving Villagers what they want,” Carlo said.
The Belluscis are also attempting to improve food offerings and other services.
“We are working to get it right,” Carlo said.
Carlo remarked that the restaurant’s visitors had been “wonderful” so far.
“We have just such great people enjoying our food,” he said. “They love our food. They love our food quality.”
