On Aug. 24, The Villages High School administration was notified of a possible bomb threat by a student on social media. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) investigated the threat, and The Villages High School was evacuated as a precaution.
After the campus had been thoroughly swept, all students and faculty returned to class. The student that made the threat was arrested.
