As most Villagers know, The Villages spans through three different counties. Here are the number of new COVID cases as of Aug. 4, according to the CDC website.
In Lake County, there have been about 310 new cases over the last week. About 17 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and about 6 deaths were reported.
In Marion County, there have been 323 new cases. About 33 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and about 4 deaths were reported.
In Sumter County, there have been about 279 cases. About 17 of those cases were admitted to the hospital, and about 8 deaths were reported.
The CDC updates the number of new cases regularly, if not daily, and anyone can view the numbers by visiting covid.cdc.gov.
