Recently, the Clifton Cove Putting Course opened at Sawgrass Grove, making it the second putting course in The Villages. The other putting course is Fenney Putt & Play.
Clifton Cove was named after George Clifton, a partner in the Clifton, Ezell & Clifton design firm. The design firm has built all of the golf courses in The Villages.
According to The Villages Daily Sun, “Dan Kipp, of the Village of St. Catherine, had the honor of making the first putt.”
“Don’t think of it as miniature golf – it’s not,” Kipp claimed. “It’s a bit of a challenge.”
Clifton Cove Putting Course has 18 holes, split into two, nine-hole layouts. Golfers can bring their own putters and golfballs, or they can check out equipment at the Ezell Regional Recreation Complex.
