Several Villages High School students were concerned on May 28 when they noticed a fellow student with a weapon. They notified the high school administration, and an investigation occurred between them and the Sumter County Sheriff’s office.
“The investigation led deputies to believe that it was an isolated incident with no plan to cause harm,” according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s office Facebook page. “At no time were students or staff in imminent danger.”
Near the end of the day, two students were arrested on campus and charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds.
