Anthony C. D’Agostino was born February 12,1926 in Brooklyn, New York. He died July 23, 2021 at the Mission Oaks Assistant Living Facility. He previously resided in The Villages, Florida for over 27 years.
Anthony served in the Army from July 27,,1944 to July 28,1946 and was also in the Army Reserves after his tour of duty. While in the Army he received numerous medals and accommodations for his service and left with the rank of Sergeant.
Anthony married Mary E.Petardi on Sept.1,1951. He was employed as a truck driver and retired from this career after 35 years of driving. He also worked as a handyman in his spare time. They had 4 children together before she died on July 17, 1982.
He is survived by 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his wife Lorraine Riccadonna who has 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
Anthony greatly enjoyed playing softball for over 20 years in various leagues and tournaments. In 1970 his team represented Lake County, Florida and won the National over 70 tournament in Texas. He was nominated to the All American Team for his outstanding play. Anthony won many other awards during his 20 years of play but was most proud of this honor. He also enjoyed bowling, golf and poker with his good friends.
Services will be held at St.Timothy’s Church in The Villages, Florida at 8:30am on July 30,2021. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that you make a donation to your favorite charity.
