Annual School Supply Drive Returns to The Villages

The fifth annual Sumter County Public Schools Supply Drive is returning for three days in The Villages.

Since 2020, the drive has supported students from low-income families, raising thousands of dollars worth of school supplies and donations. Last year, over $35,000 worth of school supplies were donated, as well as over $9,700 in monetary donations.

The drive will kick off on July 16 at the Lake Miona Recreation Center, then July 17 at the Eisenhower Recreation Center, and July 18 at the Everglades Recreation Center. All donations can be dropped at the picnic pavilions from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Requested items include: Sticky notes, lined notebook paper, single subject spiral notebooks, colored pens and pencils, highlighters, black pens, pencils, pink erasers, dry erase boards and markers, crayons, scissors, rulers, glue sticks, 3-ring binders (1″-2″ – 3″), tab subject dividers, sheet protectors, red, green, or blue pocket folders, 3-hole zippered pencil pouch.

Please only donate new items.

In addition, special request items include: disinfectant wipes, baby wipes, hand sanitizers, tissue boxes/individual packs, headphones (no earbuds), and backpacks.

Monetary donations are also welcome. If you wish to make a monetary donation, make a check payable to Sumter County Enhancement Foundation. The memo line should be Supply Drive, and you can mail it to Sumter County School District 2680 West CR 476, Bushnell, FL, 33513.
