A resident in The Villages was arrested Monday on several counts of child pornography.
Detectives assigned to the county’s Child Exploitation Investigations Unit, who are also members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Federal Task Force, began investigating Albert Rosati, 84, after receiving tips someone at his address was uploading child pornography. The uploaded images appeared to include children under the age of 9.
After an investigation into the tips, probable cause was developed to obtain a search warrant of Rosati’s residence.
While searching the residence on June 21, 2023, officers confiscated several electronic devices for further analysis. These devices were sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for forensic analysis.
After reviewing results sent back from the FDLE, officers at Sumter County Sheriff’s Office determined probable cause for Rosati’s arrest for possession of child pornography. Upon locating Rosati, officers arrested him and booked him without bond at Sumter County Detention Center.
