Sumter County police arrested a Villager last week on charges of transmitting child pornography.
Police took Gary Paul Slesinski, 69, into custody after detectives served a search warrant of his home in the Village of Sanibel.
Detectives assigned to Child Exploitation Investigations and who are members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Federal Task Force began investigating Slesinski after receiving a tip regarding the distribution of child pornography from his residence. This included an image of a child who appeared to be younger than 10 years old.
Slesinski has been charged with 2 counts of transmitting child pornography, and is being held at Sumter County Detention Center.
