The Miss Leesburg Scholarship Program is currently having their Miss Leesburg Annual Jacket Drive. People are encouraged to donate jackets, blankets, coats, sweaters and other winter wear to be given to the less fortunate.
According to their Facebook page, “The Miss Leesburg Pageant was organized in 1986 and became the Miss Leesburg Scholarship Program in 1997 – a non profit educational youth program. The purpose of this program is to select local girls to represent their hometown as role models and to promote pride in the community by active involvement in many areas, including volunteer service work.”
Donations will be accepted through Jan. 8. The Leesburg locations to drop items off include MVB Appliance, Barnett Tire Service, Holiday Heat & Air, Our Front Porch and Ramshackles. People may also drop items off at American Legion #219 located in Fruitland Park.
